Methods of Instruction: Kentucky Medicaid Nurse Aide   

The Methods of Instruction course prepares the participant to teach the 75-hour Medicaid Nurse Aide course. The focus of the course is directed toward teaching the adult learner in the classroom, nursing laboratory, and clinical setting. Taught by Sheri Pullin, APRN.

KBN Provider #3-0009-12-21-001, expiration 12/31/21. Approved by Kentucky Board of Nursing for 11.5 contact hours for RNs. KBN approval of an individual nursing continuing education provider does not constitute endorsement of program content. Participants must attend entire session to receive contact hours. Medicaid requires that each participant earn 70% or more on the written test and make a satisfactory mini-lesson presentation.

Day 1 – On Campus
8–8:30 am Introductions and Overview
8:30–9:50 am State and Federal Regulations
9:50–10 am Break
10–11 Preparing Your Class Syllabus
11–12 pm Lunch (on your own)
12–1 pm Documentation of Nurse Aide Classes
1–1:45 pm Teaching the Adult Learner
1:45–2 pm Break
2–3:50 pm Lesson Preparation
3:50–4 pm Break
4–5 pm Exam

Day 2 – Virtual
60 minutes Practice Demonstration of Bedside Skill
120 minutes Video Presentation for Certification
