The Adult Peer Support Specialist certification course is a synchronous 30-hour training provided via Teams/Zoom. This course is approved by the state Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities as initial training required for Adult Peer Support Specialists in the state of Kentucky.
Prerequisites:
- Be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Have a current or past diagnosis of a mental health, substance use, or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Have received or be receiving treatment
- Have a minimum educational requirement of a high school diploma or General Equivalence Diploma (GED) certificate
- Demonstrate a pattern of recovery from a mental health, substance use, or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
This is a synchronous online class. You are expected to virtually attend each class session. Individuals enrolling in this course must have reliable access to computer, internet, and a webcam or smart phone camera.
