Woodworking is about accuracy. Proper alignment and turning keeps the tool working smoothly and safely. This class will train you to set up and use basic wood working equipment. Our main focus will be on how to correctly use the jointer, planer, table saw, band saw, sander and drill press. With this knowledge, you will achieve cleaner cuts and better surfaces for glue joints and fine finishes. Each student will practice these techniques through the building of a cutting board and in doing so will learn how to avoid burning wood, inaccurate cuts and unsafe usage of equipment. The class fee includes a $50 supply fee.
